What's so darn special about it? I don't get it. You can get el-cheapo Chinese or Taiwanese knives like this for $5 anywhere. Try sportsmansguide.com or uscavalry.com or a table on a street corner in NYC or an Odd Job. Might be able to save a couple bucks...

There was another thread a while back, when the deal was first posted. To each his own. Just because you have no use of it, or don't think it's a deal...

But it's _not_ a deal... how much would you expect to pay for an el-cheapo Chinese knife? No matter how _neat_ it looks it's not worth more than $6.95 to begin with. What's next? Chinese copy of a Leatherman for $6.95 on the Deals home page? Must be an impoverished day in the world of tech deals... shit, here's some more 'techdeals' :

http://members.aol.com/atlasmag/knives.html

Same "quality" Chinese knives -- only $5.00! Sure, shipping is $4.00 but you only pay shipping once. Have at it, to your heart's content, order a hundred if you like -- I'm sure they'll love you for it, since they're only paying $2 each in lots of 1000.

Actually I got one, and the quality is quite good. I was surprised. When you hold it in your hand it feels nice and solid, everyone I've showed it to has agreed. Even my buddy who works in maintence was impressed and decided to get one.

This is SHIPPING ONLY. That's the deal.

I ordered one, then looked around and saw they had some nice Benwin Headphones, retail 40 bucks, for 10 bucks shipping, so got those too. I think that's almost a better deal.

I agree with m0j0, but also agree with the original poster in that these chinese knives are junk. Head over to any Army surplus store and get the same thing, and guess what? No shipping.

First of all Fakesurfers, your sig really scares the bejebus out of me.

Second how do you know they are junk if you have never seen or held one? Apex endorsess them whole heartedly, so I gave one a shot and, it turned out to be pretty good.

They work perfectly adequately as toys to keep on your belt. Gentlemen, unless you skin animals, frequently stick people, or do something aside from showing all your friends and coworkers your cool new knife, you will not be dissatisfied with the Chinese product. They are junk, however, compared to real quality knives, and anyone who uses knives for anything but opening boxes and decoration will tell you this.

My point was not so much that they are junk. I was just wondering why they are a 'techdeal' on a respectable site like this, when they can be found pretty much anywhere they are sold for the same amount or less.

Nah... It's the lead singer from Tool. Same guy as my last sig.

I wanted to use this one http://toolshed.down.net/pix/live1121.jpg
But I thought it was to big for a sig. I could crop it down if anyone knew how to post images from geocitties these days???

That's why it's so special, and the reason this is the very last batch.

So it's a copy of an actual knife, and it violates copyright, and that's why it's a good deal? Hahaha!

I think what's happening here is that Apex is getting a commission from Shippingonly.com...
