Bearshare?

I just heard about this from a friend....i was wondering if anybody has any experience with it.....does it compare to Napster? Any input is appreciated....I'm goinf through Napster withdrawal

I've used it, and I think it's decent. The problem with BearShare is that it uses the Gnutella network, and that network is famously non-scalable. The more crowded it gets, the more traffic there is. The more traffic, the slower your connection. And if you're on dialup, forget it. The connection will be so overloaded w/ search requests, you'll never return results.

when is napstar going down?

wierd enough im getting faster and faster connections as the days pass

yesterday i was uploading to someone at 235k/s and downloanding at 267k/s at the same time

it was great
take about 10 seconds per song <average of 5 meg each or so>
