this happened all of a sudden and used to work perfectly...
i have a smart and friendly 8020 and a yamaha 8x4x24.. whenever i burn an audio cd with it, it turns out static on BOTH drives. It works ok though with another program(i use this one because the program can overburn) and with a data cd, nothing comes out right(it just shows a "cd" for volume label). Ive tried installing older and newer versions with no luck..

any ideas?

thanks!

I had that happen once. I dont like cdrwin too much, Why don't you switch to Nero? It supports the latest features (like overburning) and its updated very often.

If you don't have a successful burn with CDRWIN, and you are going to the hard drive first (not direct), the data is kept on your hard drive. Check CUE and/or BIN under FIND to see if there are large files still on your hard drive and delete them. This may or may not help you.
I generally don't go from CDROM to CDWRITER to minimize problems with burning.
Also. Is the CDROM that you are using on the acceptable list that Golden Hawk notes on their home page?
