I don't pay attention to cell phones for the most part. Got one thru work...that is enough for me. But, one night last week I was at a bar and this younger kid has a cell phone that looks like the antenna has lights on it..like a radio tower or something. Anyone have any idea if I was seeing something (possibly :) or can you really buy something like that?
Thanks

My mom got one in Hong Kong. They're pretty cool, cause they've got something inside them that makes the light flash when the phone rings. If you look hard enough, I'm sure you could find them in the US.

Well, they do make these antennas for a wide assortment of phones. They mainly make them for Nokia. However, before you buy, make sure that they do work with your particular phone. Many of these flashing antennas will not work on a CDMA carrier (Sprint, Verizon, Cricket, etc.) The only drawback is that they have a tendency to break off all the time as well as dropping your reception levels.

they do work with CDMA phones, but you have to force your phone into analog mode...

i wouldnt use analog though

I heard they look cool, but they make the reception worse...some nokias are bad enough, add the wrong service, you'll make it even worse, add yet the flashing antenna, you've got a huge unblinking calculator with a couple games in it with a monthly charge.

You can really buy them. Check in Chinatown or online, but...

...I personally can't stand all those cell phone mods, and I see them all the time around Berkeley. The worst is the ringers, of course, but I swear that people only get those flasher things to draw attention to the fact that they have a cell phone. WOW, we're impressed, you live in the modern era.

I swear, if I hear Better Off Alone in class one more time...(or if the guy sitting next to me goes "hey, you play that rave music, right?")...somebody's gonna die. Maybe I ought to re-think that stance on firearms.
