I'm having trouble keeping the same screen resolution on my comp. I'm running Windows 98. Everytime i boot up my comp after it being shut down for a while the resolution goes from 800 by 600 pixels where i want it, to 640 by 480 where i don't. And the color drops to 256 from True as well. Can anyone tell me how to lock it at 800X600? It's annoying as hell to have to set the thing everytime.

Most likely a driver issue. Update.

Might help to know what videocard you have maluhia.

The problem is Windows keeps putting you into vga mode. As Leon said the driver needs to be changed.

Try installing the drivers for you monitor instead of leaving it on "Standard Monitor" or "Plug'n Play".

right click on your desktop and select "properties", click on the "Settings" tab, here it should tell you what video card your using. Let us know what that card is and we might be able to help you out.
