Can anybody help me with downloading stuff from MIRC

it's been a while. i think the other party has to do a dcc send and you gotta do a dcc get. i dunno mIRC, but i have used bitchX and gIRC.

what do you need to know?

depending on what channel your on you will either have to enter a !trigger or a /ctcp trigger

you will see the ads so youll know which on to do

from there on its just like DOS

dir to view a directory
cd.. do go up a dir
cd dir to go down a dir
get "filename"
to snag a file

i didn't post a link cuz i use mostly linux, and i assumed that you use windows (no offense if not). i am pretty sure that bitchX has a windows client. but as far as linux goes, here is the search i did at freshmeat http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=IRC . i didn't find gIRC...i guess it's either not out anymore, or i was wrong about the name. i use mostly bitchX anyhow, cuz it seems to be the best. for windows, i use mIRC, but i dunno the dcc commands.

I think thats about it....is there anyway I can search for what I want...

Sometimes when I do a trigger command nothing happens....

some channels carry searchg engines inm them some dont

what exactly are you looking for specifacally?

movies, mp3, games, warez, pron?
what?
ill jsut tell you what channel and server and save you alot of work

but for the most part you just ahve to manually search the servers

ugh....can't get through the "very useful" firewall. i don't leave my box on at home, so i can't ssh into it or anything. will have to try when i get home.

they are pefectly legal as long as you do not share the file
make a backup of it or watch
you can download it and delete it and download it agian if you want
