Ok, stinks is a gentle word. First it starts that it takes them 4 months to get my damn connection right. Then I have it for 6 weeks and they go belly up. Why was I so stupid? Was it the allure of a static IP address for the same price as Verizon. Verizon whose crap forced me to install netscape and countless windows WINPOET drivers and other support software. My accounting friend to this day thinks he MUST use Netscape over his verizon DSL line, or it wont work. He laughs at me for going with an unknown ISP partnered with northpoint. Whats worse, I prepaid the full year for the 15% discount. Not like my stocks are doing better than that, unless you are speaking in absolute terms.
Anyone else feel my pain? I know its all over http://www.dslreports.com and http://www.slashdot.com. But how is this effecting everyday GotApexer's?
Ok this is suckage. So tell me was I stupid? I think I know the answer

My isp is http://www.evolvingedge.com and they are going to move me to http://www.rhthyms.com. I feel like the person who took their money out of the bank during a banking crisis when I ask them for my money back. But cant see how this could possibly work out for the isp. On the other hand, I went through so much hell getting DSL the first time, I dont know how I could live through it again. I should give them a chance to make it work. If I wait to long, they may go out of buisiness as well, and Ill be out $400! Thats not chump change.
Oh yeah, Verizon looks good about now.

At least my girlfriend is happy to have me back ;)
DSL was my crack fix. My vice. Sad, but true. Online games, Gore demo, Red Alert 2, downloading files, looking up online reference manuals while programming, checking movie sites, etc. I was just starting to get into newsgroups. :(
Email anytime, no waiting to dial up, no tying up the phone line, no incoming calls blocked.
Excuse me while I cry.
Ok, I am a geek.

I feel your pain, when my service has its occasional hiccups I just die waiting in front of my computer. Worse yet, I have no modem anymore. I tossed it.
My cousin has the same ISP and is patched through by Verizon, but he's almost never online. I'm getting pissed cause he's always bitching to me. I suppose it's a good thing he doesn't have a contract.
