I'm working on a project for my geometry class and we're to construct an enlargement of any object. I chose to enlarge a 12-pack of pepsi 3 times. The box's dimensions are 30¾ x 23¼ x 14¼in. I'm going to cover it with regular old white butcher paper. I'm going to have to color it blue and I was wondering if there are any paints I should avoid for this material. I'll just use some modeling spray paint for this unless someone has a better suggestion? :) Thanks.

Nah, that wouldn't be allowed :( . Last year someone enlarged a corona box and got a lecture. And i don't like lectures.

How about a good acryllic? You can get it pretty cheap at most craft stores-it leaves a decent finish(not flat and not too glossy) and it doesnt crack off like some other kinds would. You could probably get away with painting the whole box buy spending less than 5 bucks for paint. (If you have an A.C. MOORE craft store in your area check there. And good luck.)

Hey thanks for the advice. Is this "acryllic" paint available everywhere? I'm a complete idiot when it comes to paint. Do they have this stuff at home depot or walgreens? If I can get it for under $5, I'm all for it!

Spray paint is more fun and less work, and tends to go on pretty even. I would use that. Just make sure you put a VERY light coat on first - so light that you can still see more then half the paper through the paint. Then watch TV for half an hour, and do another coat. 3 or 4 times ought to do it.

Do they have acryllic paint in spray cans? :)

Just go to Home Depot and ask the people working in the paint section. They know what's what.

just use blue paper. or whatever color you are planning on painting the box.

you can get colored posterboard at any craft store. you actually could just construct the box out of it, because its pretty stiff.
