First, specs..

Thunderbird 1Ghz 266 FSB
Asus A7A266 Motherboard
Samsung PC-2100 DDR SDRAM
Creative Labs Annihliator(sp) Pro Geforce DDR
Maxtor 30gb 7200 ATA/100 Hard Drive
300w Power Supply

It won't post. I've tried just about everything, the HSF runs, green LED on the board lights, and the hard drive light blinks steadily. I've read through the manual, but can't seem to find a fix for it. If anyone out there knows what else i can try before sending it back for exchange, let me know. And if you need more info, ask away. Thanks in advance!

You didn't mention the memory. I've seen machines that won't post because of incompatible memory. Also check to make sure the video card is ok. Seen that one too!

Here is the procedure that I usually follow if I get a no POST:

Warning: This is for experienced users, I am in no way responsible for your system if you thrash it...

Step 1- Remove everything from the mobo (PCI cards, vid card, processor, RAM, power, IDE...)

Step 2- Re-mount processor, RAM and Vid card. Plug in Power.

Step 3- Turn system on. If it works, great. If not...

Step 4- Check for grounding problem. Remove everything again and remove mobo from case.

Step 5- (Be careful) If you have a rubber mat to place the mobo on, great. If not, put it in the cardboard box that is came on.

Step 6- Hook up processor, RAM, Vid card and power. Turn system on. If still nothing, it may be the processor or funky RAM.

Hope this helps!

Also check that your powersupply is not a noname, and that you've plugged the case connectors properly to the MB.
