Do I really need to say more about these of priced pieces of SH*T? They are damn expensive and perform like crap. They freeze up more than a ski slope and process slower than my calculator. DON'T BUY A SONY VAIO!

I was about to buy a PII Vaio desktop (as a high end video machine).

Are you saying that all Vaios are bad or just certain types?

I have a P3 450 Vaio Laptop that I am really disappointed with. I have 192MB of RAM in it and it still runs slow or atleast it seems to me.

Yes, Sony vaio laptops are pretty bad. Not bad meaning good but bad meaning bad. They lock up all the time. Prolly too much heat for those tiny things.

The only machine I'd recommend as a high end video machine would be a Dell - whether you mean high end video in terms of nice game graphics or in terms of Photoshop type editing. I would only recommend a Vaio if someone wants a PC that looks good sitting there turned off.

I agree Jeffbx. Dell is what I recommend first. Yeah they may cost more but in terms of support and whatnot but imo they're better than the others. Compaq's are so-so.

Its sad to see Micron is leaving the desktop pc market.

With Sony it seems like your paying more just for the name.

But but...the slate blue looks cool! hehe, j/k. Actually, my brother owns a Sony VAIO, it's the digital video workstation desktop one, I don't know the model number. He actually got it for damn cheap. 1300. It's a 1.5 Ghz P4, all the bells an whistles. Got it from some place called MEDnetPlus. They JUST went out of business, but they offered great discounts to students and thus he saved about $1000 bucks...probably why they went out of business.

Err woops, anyways, my point was, I think it's not that bad. I'd rather build my own of course :)
