Quit and then ask them out? Seriously, dating at work gotta rank just behind dating roomates for negative shortterm potential

Depends on were you work. If your at a large company and you are both in differetn departments, and you don't have to deal with eachother. hen its fine. Ohterwise, quit then ask her out.

i used to date a girl that i worked with. til i found out she dated everyone :( . but now....i don't envy her. i picture her as a lost soul that may always be alone because of who she is.

This is risky water. The biggest problem would be if the two of you went out for a while, then broke up. The work situation could become quite uncomfortable. If you work for a large company, this might not be an issue.

However, I'm a hypocrite...I met my wife at work! ;)

if she is so nice and sweet and stuff...then you know you can't resist. if you have resisted this long, then it's not like she's "the one." unless she is the one...then, nevermind. but all the same...what's the holdup?

I have kind of hinted that I was interested, but everyone is right, it is risky water. I want to ask her out and have mentioned going to a movie or something but it's weird ya know.

Not sure if I should stay away or pursue something with her. Time will tell.

why does everyone always focus on the negative side of an office relationship?!

think of all the "fun" the two of you could have afterhours at the office.. or during lunch.. or tea break.. the possibilities are endless....

don't look at me. i don't see anything as a bad thing in love. it's out of love when it gets bad. or in my case, "peer pressure"

Hey Hey Hey!!! I didn't offer them any money! I was walking down the hall and bumped into them. then they said, "we're bored. can we go up to your room? would you like to video tape it?"

That's classic Stylee thanks. I actually laughed out loud when I read that.

ChickenHawk, do you guys have any common friends? If so why don't you go out with a group to happy hour or something. Ask her if she would like to come. Tell her to meet you all at one place, then send everyone to another bar so that its just you two. Then make your move. If she tells you that she has a boyfriend, excuse yourself and then sneak out the back, then you can go meet your real friends at the other bar.
That's what I would do. Hope it helps. :)

But would you really want to join two girls who have odd lumps in their throats, and can pick up a basketball with one hand?

The possibilities are endless.

Take my wife and I...
We worked seperate jobs for years and we never really talked that much. Now her and I work 5 feet from each other, not doing the same job. She does her thing and I do mine, we just happen to be in the same company now. But now we talk all the time. We have lunch together. We can pick up the kids at daycare at the same time. We get along better now than when we first got married.
It comes down to personality. Some peopl can't handle being together all the time. Some people can. You have to figure out if your personalities fit together or not. If you have no problem talk to this person and can say whatever around them then go for it. Otherwise it never hurts to just stay friends.

That's enough mushy crap for today.

Just out of curiosity, what's the point of getting 20-something replies (most of which say NOOOOO) if you ignore them all and do what you WANTED to do in the first place?

cause no isnt fun... yes is

we only get to live once folks

if you waste all your time worrying about things that really dont have any long term serious effects, then you will wake up one day old and borred. Why sacrifice a chance at something great for a little discomfort. plus wouldnt it be fun to hear peple talk?
