Question: Do the smart card reader's that come with various credit cards(most noticeably blue from Amex) work with regular smartmedia cards? I doubt it, but Im curious if anyone knows if there is a way to use them that way.

Mreh. They are trying to trick me into getting their card! Thanks hapoo.
actually the chips on the credit cards are flash ram, but they dont hold very much data. the readers for "smart" credit cards WONT read smart cards simply because the connectors are different shapes and you would need software to read and write to the card.
umm.. wrong forum.. DOH.. i'm not GAM :P

Just to let you know that AMEX uses standard Iso 7816 and all of their connectors are in the right place, if you have settilite tv you could compare the two.
But the 2nd thing that amex programmer has some weird generator which doesn't read anything besides amex.

YEAH! SO THERE! ...you people take your day jobs way too seriously... :) ROCK ON!
It is only a matter of time before someone out there finds a way to crack and hack those AMEX blue cards just like they did with the DirectTV H and HU cards. Just imagine, there is already hardware out there that will program and unloop them, it is only a matter of time before someone figures it out.
