I got laid off. that's all there is to it. It sucks soooo much. Everyone says it's a great thing, the company is paying me 2 weeks severance to find another job. But they obviously have a job, and don't have to worry about car payments.

topane/m0j0: I do deskside support, net admin, stuff like that. I'm well versed in NT/95/98/2k/Me, Mac, Office, Notes, Outlook, pcAnywhere, and I can support just about any app if given the time to learn.


LP: Tell me about it! My company just said last week there would be no more layoffs, and then proceeded to ax over half of the support squad. Lying bastards. Well, I've been looking, and the market's definately tighter than 6 months ago, but I'm sure something will pop up. It always does....

I was laid off from Micro$haft :borg: about a month ago. I was there as a contractor and I got no notice or severance. This, after several reassurances from the boss that there would be no layoffs. :mad3: On the bright side, I had a promising interview Monday for a good job that will suit me a LOT better, cuz I won't have to deal with lusers anymore.

Now if only I didn't have to go to one of those lame unenjoyment meetings tomorrow... :splat:

Now I find out that M$ won't give me a job reference. It's against company policy because I was a contractor. I had barely any dealings with my agency during my time at M$, so how the can I confidently use them as a reference?
