I was a little disappointed because I expected more political digs, and less plain 'ol sitcom.

I like seeing politicians get skewered, whether on the right OR the left.

This was just too much sitcom and not enough satire.

I think it was beutiful......The show itself, on a topicl level, was terrible. In my oppinion, Stone and Parkers main goal is to rouse controversy. The best way to do that is to portray bush as a good man who is overwhelmed. Seing as how the media is leaning so far to the left these days, there is an uproar on how positively the show portrayed bush. Its funny that in all these years people always just assumed that Matt Stone and Trey Parker were liberals, when in fact if you pay attention closely to south park youw ill see that they really dont lean liberal at any time, they seem neutral in fact (see florida election episode). Plus you must admit that a survived abortion is the head of the pro life movement is hilarious. I also thought it was great how int he entire episode they made the pro life side look so muchmore int he right even though commonly the pro lifers are made to look like extremists......Dont get me wrong I think bush is a moron and I lean liberal most fo the time...... But you can never take Stone and Parkers work at face value... there are always smart underlying themes to all the south park shows and i expect to see that become clearer in this show... I wouldnt give up on it yet

What they are trying to do is satire the sitcom genre, that's why they opened with the most hackneyed of all plots (the 'be two places at once plot')... it's tired, boring, and I couldnt make it through more than 15 minutes. I'll be happy to see this dog die.

Just watching the rerun, and I have to say, they're kind of in between a rock and a hard place.

There's only so much of the "Bush is stupid" stuff. I mean, at some point, we're going to just throw our hands up and say "Alright! He's dumb! We get it!".

Meanwhile, the sort of polish needed would prohibit actually topical stuff.

Probably a decent idea, but just too tough to execute. Still, his term's gotta be great news for comedians. Like Dennis Miller once said, "It's kind of like being a hardware store owners in the path of an oncoming hurricane.
