Go away Favorites!

I installed IE6b a little more than a week ago and all my favorites came back (like when you reinstall part of your OS). I figured they would eventually be hidden, but here I am, ten days later, and they are still there. I have over 300 favorites, only 5 or six I use on a regular basis-I really liked how IE5 hid the ones I dont use often.
Has this happened to anyone else?

this is the way IE5 did it:
Tools-->Internet options-->advanced tab
check personalized favorites menu.
