my two cents is that this is a great deal! I have used them several times and had no problems. The certificates came within a couple of days and they worked; I saved a lot of money with these guys.

Two notes:

1. I *believe* that CitySpree is giving FULL refunds for all GCs that merchants don't accept. (I have several coming to me, but have not received yet)

2. Also, two places in Northern California had issues:
Squished Eyeball Theater -- Dispute with CS led to mutual cancellation of the deal
Treadmill Outlet -- misunderstanding about correct amount of GCs. All over $100 are being recalled.

I agree with TheLoneGunman, I think cityspree is a very reputable site and will refund your purchase price of a certificate if the place decides not to honor them. I don'y have a personal experience with this as of yet though, the certificates I have received haved worked with no problems.

After writing to cityspree.com through planetfeedback.com (still waiting for 2 refunds), here is an email I received from CitySpree:

Dear Valued Customer,

Cityspree has grown very fast to become one of the most popular
local auction sites. To date we have more than 100,000 registered
users and approximately 5000 merchants in the Cityspree network.
One result of this fast growth is a slower than optimal response
time. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and the
frustration it may have caused. I would like to resolve
all outstanding issues in a timely manner.

In order to expedite your request I would appreciate some additional
information from you.

1) If your inquiry has already been addressed please disregard
this email.

2) If you have purchased a gift certificate(s) and a merchant
is no longer in business you can receive a refund by simply
mailing back the unused gift certificate(s) with your winning
bid number(s) or a copy of the email notification(s) of the
winning bid to:

Cityspree
Attn: Refund Request
423 Commerce Road
Vestal, NY 13850

Please allow 3-4 weeks from the time we receive the unused gift
certificate for the credit to appear on your statement.

For all other outstanding customer issues please click here or
copy and paste the following link into your address/location
bar in your Internet browser window:

If you are a merchant and would like to contact a Cityspree
Sales Representative please click here or copy and paste the
following link into your address/location bar in your Internet
browser window:

or you may contact Caroline Bailey at the following address:

Thank you for your assistance in helping us resolve outstanding
customer service issues. I recognize that Cityspree can't
continue the rapid pace of growth without making customer service
a top priority and regret any past inconvenience. We are upgrading
our customer service center so our response time is much faster
to provide the customer service that you deserve.

Cityspree looks forward to bringing you continued exciting local
auctions in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Anne Stanton
