i dont know if anyone shops at both of these places, but if you have, did you notice how the two sites are very similar?... very peculiar....
I haven't ever visited mwave.com but I just bought a lot of stuff from newegg.com. They were great, cheap and fast. I got my order before the end of the week. Only problem I had was with Fed-Ex...They left a note on the door "first attempt failed, will try again tommorow." I waited ALL FREAKING DAY on friday for the fed-ex guy, he never came. Then I called up Fed-Ex asked them to FAX of the order and they sent me a piece of paper that basically said they didn't know what the hell happened to the package. So I called up again and went through some crappy phone process and it said "Package Delivered Yesterday to First initial S. Last name Clark" They gave it to my damn neighbor and didn't even leave any notice of it. Anyways, Fed-Ex Sucks, newegg.com rules :)
I've used mwave.com for several purchases. Good prices and good service. Definitely recommended. http://www.gotapex.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

I would agree that they are very similar in structure. However, there is some variance in their prices on the same item, so either they are separate and coincidentally similar or there is a little intra-corporation competition going on, quite possibly to increase their own sales.
Price Comparisions
AMD 1 Gig T-Bird 266fsb
newegg - $170
mwave - $164
Asus a7v133
newegg - $121
mwave - $137
ATI AIW Radeon 32 meg
newegg - $210
mwave - $239
This doesn't prove anything. It just shows that amongst all the similarities between the two sites, there are some differences. As Brak said, it's "SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT."

They might've contracted out their web design stuff to the same company.
On a related note, take a look at quill.com and staples.com : Rather similar, with a few things moved around. :P
