I am looking for a 4 GB IDE hard drive, new or used.
I did a really stupid thing last weekend. I was assembling a new system. I put the hard drive at the bottom of the case since I didn't have the proper screws for the bay. Well, I fired everything up, and I saw smoke coming from the hard drive. I lifted the drive up, and one of the screws laying at the bottom of the case had shorted one of the circuits in the hard drive. Really stupid!! It was a brand new 8 GB hard drive. So I could use another hard drive.

Hard drives that small are no longer produced for desktop systems. It will cost you almost as much to buy an older, smaller hard drive as it will the newer, bigger hard drives. Unfortunately not all bios can take these bigger hard drives.

I was wondering why the 4GB to 10 GB drives were so expensive. Thanks!
