to answer your question, the results of this survey is used for my Journalism 463 research and analysis class that I MUST take in order to graduate. In less than I month, I will have to put together a presentation for class and a detailed write up. I will also post the results of my survey online for those who are interested in seeing my research outcome.

I did the survey. But it doesn't seem like enough information to put together a presentation. I guess it would be a short one.

Anyhow, times sure have changed. I remember once when I had to conduct a survey for a class. I was walking on the streets for hours on end grabbing poeple begging for their participation. Now you can just post a link on a forum like this, go do other stuff, come back at the end of the day, and you have a completed survey waiting for you at the click of a button....

yeah, i guess I'd have to agree with you. Doing an online survey is much easier and is the route many are taking when it comes to both professional surveys and ammature ones, like the one I am conducting.
However, because I was having problems reaching the 30+ demographics, I did have to go out physically and hand them to people that I'd think fit tht demographic and are willing to participate.
So I understand the pain that you went through when you did your survey! =)

If you really want to get technical, online surveys are actually not the greatest way to about gathering data for such a project. It leads to selection bias in that it only surveys people online and who visit gotapex and it not really consistent with taking a random sample. Maybe you can use that for your conclusion..hehe

Intuitively, it seems like conducting a survey on the internet would be the best way to reach a wide variety of demographics since it is accessible world wide, but then again if you think about it, if you happened to post the survey on only one site such as gotapex, i guess you'd you'd have a very good chance of hitting only the "no-life, my-computer-is-my-best-friend, i-get-no-sun, never-had-nor-will-have-a-date, computer geek" demographic. In which case would give some pretty biased results in a dating survey. hehe...

There's no way it COULDN'T outnumber Berkeley. I know Ice-9 isn't Asian, so I can't account for his personal taste, but as far as the Asian males see it here, there are no living beings that fit the "Asian Female" criteria at Berkeley, primarily because of the "female" part. Have of the Asians are certainly Asian males. As for the other half, I really haven't seen anything like them before. You tell me what they are.

Now speaking of UCI and UCLA....that's different story. It must be the water or something.
