View Full Version : Suckage: Sneaky Food Industry
This is probably goinging to sound petty, but. . .
Do you guys remember when you bought hot cocoa mixes in a single pack? How many are in each box? 10 packets, right? I just bought a box, and there were only 8 packets in there! SNEAKY BASTARDS! Instead of increasing the prices, they just give you less! Punks.
Remember, guys. Read the labels!!!

Wow that is really low, they are gonna piss all these people off for just 2 measly packets? Then again not many people care enough about the 2 packets to stop buying their product.:P That is a really good trick though, usally when I buy something I just throw it in the cart without reading it. THanks for the heads up:P
dude, and the size of candy bars is smaller, as well as the size of chips. especially outta the machines. they do it cuz they got ya

Yep, the price of a box of Little Debbie Fudge Rounds has remained $0.99 for years and years, yet the size of them keeps getting smaller and smaller. It's gotten to the point where they are bite-size now. :mad2:

And then there is serving size vs. calories. I love it when companies advertise that their product only has 100 calories per serving, so you think that you are being health conscious by consuming less calories, so you eat/drink the entire package, still feeling good about yourself. Then, you get smart and look closely at the nutritional info label. Ah ha! Calories per serving: 100... ok, sounds good so far... serving size: 8 oz... ok, that seems fair... servings per container: 3???? What?? 3 servings in this tiny container? Riiiight!! So now you go from 100 calories to 300 calories in a matter of seconds! Grrrr!! A 20oz bottle of your favorite soft drink usually has about 100 to 120 calories per serving, but there are 2.5 servings per container. Who really drinks only 8oz of any beverage at any given time? If anything, people probably drink 20 oz or more on average given your Big Gulps and Thirst Quenchers and Biggie Sizes and Giant Guzzlers... the list could go on. And of course, there is the other end of the spectrum: Capri Sun. Those things are a complete waste of my time! Only 8oz, come on people! OK, I suppose they are aimed toward elementary aged school kids, but hey, I'm a kid too! Give me a Biggie Size Capri Sun pouch!! Hell, fill up a gallon-sized ziploc bag full of the stuff and give me a piece of flexible PVC tubing that I can jab through the side! I'll suck that thing dry quicker than you can say sasparilla! So next time you are persuaded that you are making a nutritious decision, think again buddy!

ROFLMAO, I just got a visualization and it's freaking hilarious. A Ziploc bag, that'd be the day, grown men will be jumping up and down in front of the bathroom doors holding their crotch. :heh:

in my old college there were 10oz cans in one of the vending machines for 5 cents more
the vending machine at my work always has food REALLY close to the expiration date, too. i feel like we are the last kids in rotation for the fresh stuff. so, someplace up the chain, someone is getting the sandwiches that come straight offa the conveyor belt. and then sometimes stuff comes outta the snack machine that is already opened. maybe in handling, but still opened. or sometimes it's old and funky. and then what about those machines that have glass containers for the beverages? it's not supposed to break, but it sometimes does. so you have 16 ounces of fluid in the machine which you can't clean out well enough, so it becomes 1 ounce of fluid or .025 ounces of weird goop. oh, and of course the machine will one day kick out $1 coins featuring sacajewia as your change from a $5 or a $10, and lull you into a false sense of security as you rack up $9 in quarters, nickels, and dimes buying a zagnut. and heaven forbid you run both microwaves at once...you'll blow a fuse. well, i know they have breakers, but still. so of course the 10 people that have to warm up their lunch at the same time cuz they have the same lunch hour are backed up out the door trying to get to the one at a time microwave when you can clearly see two. and you know that they actually put stuff in popcorn that no matter how full you are, no matter what time of day it is, if you smell some you gotta get some too.
