Here are three options (two are if we can find someone to scan Amazon's friday Sale):

Staples (B&M) has Quicken Basic for $19.99 along with a bunch of other software. Buy something else for a few dollars. Use the coupon (posted here a while ago) $10.00 off of $25.00.

If anyone has the Friday's Amazon.com's sale printed out, that'll make the deal even better. They had "Quicken Deluxe" for $19.99 (reg $39.99). You can price match it, buy something else for a few more dollars, and use the coupon.

The other option if you can get hold of Amazon's sale is, buy the Quicken for 19.99, state tax (29.99) and use the 15 off of 40 coupon. You get a mail-in rebate for the amount of State Tax software, which will bring your total to 4.99 + tax. Not a bad deal for both the softwares and other free stuff.

Turbo Tax on the Web is an even better deal. You don't pay until you are ready to file/print and then it is still cheaper than the listed deals. It includes State (if appropriate) as well and since it is almost completely based on your Federal answers, it takes just a few minutes.

It is very secure (the password issue was with the software) and pretty speedy too.

you're right. My only concern was, I didn't want my tax info sitting on someone else's server. I also heard that you cannot save the data on your computer but can access it via web anytime. I don't know if I would want to do that though.

BTW, you get one free electronic filing if you buy Quicken Deluxe which will get your refunds very fast. My 2 cents..

If you want a really good deal on taxes, open a free account at MyFidelity, access Intuit on the web through their tax planning link, and do your taxes free. Period. No tax fees, no electronic fees, and yes, you can download your tax forms on PDF after you E-file. Federal and one state. I have done this.

Yeah, turbotax on the web is awsome, it saved me a lot of headaches. I did mine for free also through wingspan.com (after signing up for that $100 deal for opening an account with them last year). They are still offering it free for their customers, which you could probably do without ever depositing any money.
