Ya, I could have just replied to the other thread, but I wanted credit for "posting a deal". I don't want to get slammed by the eleite "deal posters" for trivial things just because I'm not one of them...
So stupidzbu has a comp and wants a cheap upgrade. Go to http://www.allstarcomponents.com
I just got:
1 Asus A7V-133 Motherboard (Retail Box)asusa7v-133 (Limit 5 Per Customer) $127.00 $127.00
1 T-bird 900MHz ( 200MHz FSB ) / No Fan:AMD Thunderbird CPU / No Fant7o900, no fan (Limit 5 Per Customer) $117.00 $117.00
for a total of 259.25 shipped. No special deals or rebates, just the best prices on very good components...
Find a cheap fan and some pc133 memory and you've got a very nice and relativly cheap upgrade for $300.
By the way, it looked like a good deal. So I researched the mobos on the barebone systems in the other thread. I found a customer review site for them, but I'm too lazy to go find it again to post. Both mobos were given very poor reviews. One of the major complaints was that the integrated video and audio slowed the system down, they couldn't be deactivated, and were of poor performance. So I decided it wouldn't be worth it...
