OK, ive started to design the photo album for my site, and I'm not sure which font I should use, so I took a snapshot of it.


Also does anyione know how to get a web page to download and install a font? Since no one visiting is gonna have the font I want to use.

Thanks Ice 9, sofar there have been 25 views, but no responses. Most of my frineds picked the same one as you. SO Im gonna go with the bottom left.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO EMBEDDED FONTS????

Any one of the ones on the left page. But I wouldn't try to make the browser download a font. It's just asking for a bunch more work. (Unless all your friends run the same version browser.)

the thing is, it wouldnt look right unless i have a nice font to go wiht it. So even though it'd be a pain, I'd liek to have an embedded font.

instead of forcing them to download a font, use 2-color gif's for the picture texts, it's not like youll be changing the descriptions

UPDATE ON NICK CAPUTO


After readign the thread and thinking about the name, something just didnt sound right. Then I realized his last name isn't caputo, its KAMUDA.


2 color GIF idea

As for this idea,it wouldnt be easily implemented. If you look closely at the page, you can see it is not 1 color, and I do not want it to be one color(it wouldnt look like an old book if it was).

any other easier suggestions?

Actually, the gif idea could still work - just make the backgrounds transparent. I'm using gifs for the text on my site, so if you're concerned about load time, check out my page at http://go.to/B-Works and see how long it takes. Embedding fonts is a ROYAL pain because half the people don't bother to download them, but if you're dead set on it, I'll write you up some instructions.

The laod time was quick, but...making the gifs would be a pain. If I want to edit the text, Im gonna have to make anothe rgif. So I think Im dead set on using an embedded font.
As for people not downloading the font, thats thier choice.
