i recently bought a WinTv-D card for ma comp. when i installed the drivers and the software that came with it, it said that there was a conflict between the wintv-d card and something else. i asked ma brother about it, he said to go look for a software that can diagnose the problem. this hardware conflict has caused my comp to freeze up, windows not starting up, windows not shutting down, etc. ma specs are: asus a7v - amd t-bird 1Ghz - Elsa Gladiac 32mb gts - sb platinum 5.1 - 256mb pc100 - compaq dsl/56k modem - wintv-d - 40gb quantum - 41gb ibm - 4gb wd - win98 - panasonic 12x dvd-rom - zipcd 12x10x32.

i think the problem is between my video card and ma wintv-d. well if someone can help me i would greatly appreciate it. thnkz in advance.

Try the tv card in another slot, sounds like it's trying to share an IRQ with the video card.

Go to ControlPanel->System->Device Manager tab->Computer Are there any items sharing IRQs?(other than ACPI IRQ Holder)If so, move the conflicting item to a different PCI slot.

Changing the PCI slot will also change the IRQ. Some motherboards may also let you assign the IRQs manually in the BIOS.
