I bought a barebone kit from vitality....

and it came earlier this week.. I pick it up.. and i hear some clunking right....
so i open th ebox.. and there is a smaller box with the case and everythign already installed on it..

so i pick that up.. and i hear even MORE clunking..

i start thinking that these morons put everything INSIDE the case so i'd have to install it...

so....

i open the case.. and I see the DAMN CPU FAN! it's LOOSE and flopping all over...

the inside of the case is full of the gunk.. the motherboard is stained all over... the ram area is stained with it.. a heat sink on the mother board is stained with it...

thats about all the cosmetics i can see.. i'm not sure if it caused any physical damage.... soo.... what should I do?

should I just clean it up.. and use the computer??
or shoudl I get it exchanged??

i'm thinking about returning it.. becuase i thought it came with a mouse & keyboard... and a 10 gig HD.. but it doesn't...

and I can;t seem to find out ANY info on their web page http://www.vitalitycomputer.com about this sort of thing...

HELP!

Dispute it with your CC company & let them duke it out for you. Hopefully you used Amex - they really put up a fight.

How was it shipped? I got $300 out of UPS when my fan shook loose and my new processor fried.

it was shipped UPS....

it's working now.. but after 8 hours of reconfiguring the entire damn system and cleaning all of that crap off...

i called them up... vitality told me that this seems to happen alot to computers being shipped.....

first they wanted me to pay the $50 to ship it back to them.. but after about 30 minutes of bitching.... i got them to pay for it through UPS track-ID or something like that... but he couldn't process it until monday..... and was giving me a hard time about it...

so.. i sat down.. took the phuker apart.. and put it back together... the bios SUCKS ass... it was the HARDEST to configure!!

it has a primary, secondary and tertiary boot option... BUT.. it also has HDD-0 HDD-1 HDD-2 HDD-3 options.... i tried the 0,1,2 options thinking there is NO WAY it wouldn't work like that...

but after screwing around a little... for some OBSCURE reason..it only works with HDD-1,2,3

i thought that was pretty strange.. anyone know what the hell HDD-0 is then?

so.. the system is working fine.. i added 128 megs of ram... and ALOT of hard work...

vitality SUCKS ASS ... unless you don't mind rebuilding their stupid barebones..

HDD-0 should be your 1st HD. if its the master on your primary IDE channel, your HD should be HDD-0. Ive never seen HDD-1 being the first hd
