is epson a good brand name?

Thinking about getting an epson scanner. Is this one of the better brands of scanners? If not what is a good brand? thanks.

i hate their printers. the quality isn't bad, but i have found that they aren't very reliable.

I have an Epson 670 printer, and its always printed when I hit print. Good quality too. Dont know why giambona said they aren't reliable, all of mine have been.
