Hi,
I'm looking for some products to help cool my computer down, but when I total up all the products i'm getting, I'm spending a pretty buck ($90 about)... I was wondering if there is any place where I can get these parts for cheaper, or if there is a good deal on anything. Right now in my shopping cart at Coolerguys.com is
FC-PGA Cool-Shim 8.95
ThermalTake Golden Orb (Socket) 16.95
Ultra Memory Kit 25.95
Ultra ATA rounded cable (Black) 19.95
Floppy Rounded cable (Black) 19.95

You could only save a few bucks by going to crazypc.com. Here's what else I suggest:
If you are using the golden orb, you don't need the shim. Because of the twisting of the orb, it insures proper contact is made (trust me, if done this many times). If you plan on getting a different cooler down the road though, get the shim.
As for the Memory Kit, I assume it is for your Video Card.

Drop the rounded cables unless you have a window in your case. Simply "tuck and fold" your cables. I will post a picture (on my website or someone else's) of what I mean soon. A quick description: From your drive, fold the cable so that it heads toward the side (down towards MOBO) of your case, then fold up/down (so that it points toward the IDE/floppy slot on MOBO), then make on last 90 degree fold so that is goes right into the slot. It's much easier than it sounds, and it provides better airflow than rounded cables.
I also suggest checking out my Golden Orb article at bleedingthumb.com. The golden orb is VERY tight out of the box, so it's best the lap and loosen it. Yes, the website hasn't been updated since January...blame the dumb ISP.
I'm not overly fond of orbs. The stories of crushed cpu's were bad but there are also better cooling solutions like alpha's and global win's available. However those solutions will co$t more.
Before putting on the orb twist it a few times to loosen it up.
Try to get everything from one place andytseng. Otherwise any savings will be for naught due to shipping costs from different places.
