I have been reading PC Magazine for years and I have always loved it. They have changed their content and layout recently. I still love it, but I was wondering what do you guys think about this magazine.
Errr....well.....to me they started focusing more on the business end of things. Which is fine for say, reviewing Windows 2000 products. But when it comes to hardware, I just kinda stare at it. For example, in the most recent issue they review server accelerators which the lowest priced one was like 2,500. The hightest I believe was around 80,000. Not for the average user. :)

I've been reading it for a long time, too, but I'm letting my subscription lapse this summer. I've been checking out the website more than the magazine anymore, so I figure I should save a few bucks and not waste the paper.
As time has gone on the amount of magazines I've subscribed to has gone down. There's little need to subscribe when you can go online and get the articles and reviews you want.
I stopped buying computer mags over a year ago. Their content is not always fresh even in the latest issues, and things change so rapidly that it just makes more sense for me to use the internet for my computer mag needs. I don't need the ads cuz I use the GA deals page and Pricewatch and such, and all the tech sites I visit keep me up to date with reviews and real human opinions.
Also, I started collecting car magazines about 15 years ago, ostensibly for a reference library. Well, the internet provides all the reference I need, so I'm weeding out the bulk of them. Good thing they recycle....
The same applies for Maximum PC for me. I used to think it was the sh*t, but the CDs contain stuff I can easily download, the bulk of their reviews are online, etc. It's a quality mag, but I get more from the internet. (This may be what killed Maximum Linux - things just change too quickly to make a monthly mag feasable). I'm probably going to recycle most of the issues I have, but I'll hang onto a few.
You know what would really rock? A weekly computer rag, kinda like AutoWeek.
