Would they drop off without a signature?

I have had FEDEX packages delayed by several days because they never rang the bell and then claimed no one was home to sign.

Also, what if you get misrouted?

I actually work in the shipping industry and have dealt with Fedex and UPS for years. A little known fact is that Fedex will drop a package off without a signature as long as the shipper releases it. The only problem is most of the on-line stores won't release the signature. Also, if they do attempt to deliver a package unsuccessfully, they should leave a slip on your door somewhere, and you can take that to the Fedex terminal to pick your package up.
