Greetings Apexers. I know that a few of you have an SMC Barricade at home so if you could helo me out, I would be much obliged.
I was running my SMC Barricade at my old apartment, and I had 3 computers hooked up to it. I moved to a new place, got a cable modem, and now I am attempting to use the router so that my roomates and I can share one connection. For some reason though, I can't ping or log on the SMC Barricade anymore. I try using the default IP Address 192.168.123.254, but it times out whenever I ping it or use IE to log on. I'm not sure what I did, perhaps I changed the default IP address at my old place, but is there a way that I can reset the router? Or can you think of another way I might be able to get the router back to original configuration? Thanks!

If you go to smc's website, they show u how to reset the router ( you have to use a wire to connect specific pins on the serial where the modem is, if I can recall). Basically just look at the manual, it should help you.

Q: How do you reset the Barricade to factory defaults?
A: There are two ways to restore the Barricade to factory defaults:
1. If you are able to get into the Barricades management and have updated the firmware to version 1.88 or higher, than there is a "restore to defaults" button in the "Toolbox" section of the Management.
2. If you cannot get into the Barricade's management, then reset the Barricade by holding a metal object (i.e.: paper clip) touching pins 3 and 8 of the com port for 5 to 6 seconds after turning it on. You will know you have reset the Barricade if the M1 light blinks about 8 times really fast and then returns to a normal steady blink (about once every second.
