I'm going to get a laptop thats comming with win98se. I have to install win2k and I plan on doing a dual boot. My question is when I do the duel boot, will Win2k automatically detect my win98se programs such as office2000 and so forth??? or do I have to reinstall them.

Also, the manufacture site for my laptop (fujitsu) says that a lot of the features are taken away when upgrading to win2k...but they sell systems that run on win2k with the same features. The website looks kinda old so I was wondering if there was a patch out that could possibly fix some of these problems?? This includes the laptop not being able to find the dvd and powermanager being disabled.

Thanks

If you decide to install Windows 2000 to a FAT32 partition and install to the same partition as Windows 98SE, you SHOULD be able to reinstall your applications in Win2k within the same directory as in Win98SE. For example, Microsoft Office is installed to c:\program files\microsoft office. You SHOULD be able to boot into Win2k and point the installation of Office into this same directory. However, if you install Win2k to it's own FAT32 partition or to a NTFS partition, the above will not work. Please take the preceeding with a large grain of salt.
