Yep, I turned my computer into a big paper weight last night trying to upgrade the flash BIOS. Seemed to work fine till it wouldn't reboot. Grrr...
What sucks more is that I had to have my computer last night so I ran down to Fry's and bought a new mobo. There went some cash I hadn't budgeted... Oh well.
Let's see what Iwill says about their flash program wiping out my BIOS.

Note to self: Never flash BIOS unless absolutely necessary.
Did you try clearing the CMOS just for sh*ts and giggles?

In response to those that are interested, yes, I did clear the bios. Both by setting the clear CMOS jumper and by removing the battery. No dice. Must have had a bad flash.
Luckily, I live close to Iwill's Irvine office so I went over there and grabbed a couple of new BIOS chips. One for the dead board, one for the new board I bought. In case I had problems flashing again.
Guess what? I had to use the backup BIOS chip. :) Good thing I'm a paranoid guy, huh?
Although, I think I jumped the gun on replacing the BIOS chip. I think the flash worked fine and I just had to clear the cmos to get it to see the new flash. In any event, I'm up and running again. So, I'm a happy guy now.
Anyone want a practically brand new Iwill KA266 with the new BIOS? :)
