Family Trees

I recently did a check on some genealogy stuff and noticed that someone actually had me on their family tree.

This was very cool!!

It was also neat to see some people that were on some of the side branches (Like Jack LaLanne -- I think it was the exercise guy, whose daughter married a distant relative of mine)

Anyway, they have a free site at http://www.ellisislandrecords.com but it seems to not always work.

Also if you family is European and Jewish (like mine) you will tend to have a lot of branches that abruptly end in Concentration Camps (I wonder how all the Holocaust deniers explain that)

Well have fun and post any interesting stories.

I think George W. Bush is related to like 9 or 10 other Presidents, but I am not sure.

It's really wierd that you would mention this sight..I was just on there this morning at 2am hoping that it would be faster than it is during the day. All in all-its a great sight for being free. I sent in a small donation (5 bucks) and they keep sending me really cool stuff. I got a rubbing of my grandfather's name. that was very cool.
I and some other relatives researched my hubs family back to the 1200's..He (and now my kids of course) are direct descendants of Sir Robert the Bruce,and the lineage includes ties to the British Royal Family (include the present Mountbattan Windsor Clan),Alexander Hamilton,John Adams, John Quincy Adams,Aaron Burr,and Jonathan Edwards the great theologean and First president of Princeton University (some say second prez)who is my husbands namesake and great great great great great great grandfather. And some various other notables from US history..it took forever but it was worth the time it took. My family includes MichaelAngelo, and 4 popes.

I have the same b day as George Bush Sr.
