Time for a new mouse?

I have an OEM Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse. Lately when I left-click the mouse, it double clicks. It's not even at regular intervals, sometimes it acts as if I clicked it once, and sometimes it acts if I clicked twice.

I check the software settings, and everything was fine, left button for left-click, wheel-button as double-click, right button for right-click.

So anyone have a clue as to what's wrong?

Last resort, try cleaning it! I had this problem once before with an old MS mouse w/o Intellipoint and it would double-click on me. It was at work so I got a new mouse :)

Actually, I don't think it's the mouse anymore. I do clean it often. But now sometimes the computer seems to just double some of my keystrokes. Again, I gotta say that it happens sporadically, but this is getting real annoying.
