Hey guys, you were the first place for me to think of. I'm about to purchase some merchandise outside of eBay from this guy who's eBay seller name is "thepdaguy". His email addresss is: [email protected]

For some reason, I feel a little hesitant to work with him b/c he has zero feedback and seemed pushy for the sale. Also, there's one eBay bidder "[email protected]" who has bid on 3 out of 9 auctions held by this guy.

He says he owns a store in Canada called Games-Shack with no website, but has a condo in Florida (where he might be visiting soon). Also, he said sales on the internet were good, but yet he doesn't have a website for his company.

What do you think? Any help please? I'm just trying to be safe. Thanks.

If a sale seems fishy to you than I would avoid buying anything from that person.

Im with them. I, too am an occasional Ebay seller and buyer. But I try to stay away from the 0 feedback people. They are mostly the ones to rip people off. But, lets not stereotype people now. I remember when I started off with 0 feedback. I still work with 0 feedback people now and then if it works out good. I usually use some sort of escrow service, that way I get protected. If you think this is a great deal, consider using an escrow service. If he backs out, then you are saved. And if he does ship, 5-10 dollars is well worth all the stress.

Sounds good. Thanks guys. How do I set up an escrow payment? Does the other party need to be involved with it as well? I'm kinda new with escrows.....

Thanks

You can find all your answers at http://www.iescrow.com

your funds wont get released to them until they shipped and you have confirmed that you have received the product.

I would generally say that "hunches" are pretty good. I saw a guy with a 0 rating selling a pile of laptops. He looked pretty professional and I asked for verification and he didn't really provide anything substantial.

The next week I looked him up and suddenly he is "not a registered user"

Good thing I didn't mess with it.

If the worry is great enough that you need escrow, likely you shouldn't bother. The small amount you are saving by buying with this guy will get eaten up by the fees.

But isnt it true, you are not charged any escrow fee if the transaction does not go through. Okay, lets say I intiate an escrow. The seller agrees. But somewhere in the middle he didn't shipped which makes the escrow incomplete. For one, you dont have to worry about him cheating your money since you didnt pay him anything. And secondly, you dont have to pay any escrow fees because the transaction did not go through.

The whole purpose behind escrow is not them paying the seller, but rather them getting involved.

The minute you set up a transaction, you are responsible for 100% of the fees.

They are like an insurance company. You owe the minute you sign up, not after you have an accident and they pay up.

Yea...you should watch out for Ebayers out there with 0 feedback and no credibility....they think they can make some easy money off some kid or innocent person by getting them to send a non-tracable money order and then they disappear into some country....especially Indonesia, and Romania, Singapore....

Recently there has been a rush in these three countries to jack people's credit cards and try to get items from people over the internet.... HAHA...it's like they just discovered how to so thousands of them are doing it!...how queer is that!!

Also there is a SCAM going on for 8890's with a website called

http://www.max-tel.go.ro/

or other variations with go.ro on the end of their websites....they are all trying to get people to pay for phones and pay a non-existing company on the internet ...

ALL i have to say is beware and heed my words,...thanks guys
