Okay, so I'm actually applying to be a columnist for our school paper (ucbstan - i figure i can't possibly be any worse than most of the fools who are writing this semester), and I need to submit three sample columns for evaluation. I need ideas for columns! I have a few, but I figure that many twisted minds are better than one. Any suggestions? I don't care how off-the-wall they are, I need to stand out, and I do go to Berkeley, the capital of weird. Help me out!

Write a column about G|A. We'll get a lot more members, and hopefully more deals.

Of course! Okay, anybody who wants their name mentioned in my column, MAKE A SUGGESTION! My brain is sick of functioning, it's been a long semester.

about the coupons. :D We have a VERY up-to-date and complete list of coupons from all your favorite onlines stores! And I happen to know the person in charge of coupons works her butt off on them. ;)

BUT! You can't have ALL of your columns be about G|A, as grand of a community as it may be. Otherwise, you'll blend in with the EECS majors who write about the web sites THEY frequent.

You wanna be weird and stand out at Cal? Write a column advocating George W. Bush!

I always thought the columns about relationships were fun reading. As a guy, you could write an anti-sexism column for us chicks, errr, women. A few threads *cough* Mail-order-bride *cough* Marrying teens *cough* have surfaced in the past few days that could serve as your "research."

Be sure to mention G|A members as "friends," and not "geeks I've never met before." It'll be less damaging to your credibility.

Best of luck with that, Ice ... I always meant to join the Daily Cal, but the one time that I went to a meeting, they were really snooty. (And I'm a lazy procrastinator too so I never got around to going to another meeting. :D)

Post your columns when you're done!

Canser is not a bad idea. After tonight I'm going to be puting in an article in the newsletter I put together at work. That's some serious stuff people need to know about.

Normally I write articles about web sites and news bits but this time I'm letting the people know they got to watch out for some of this stuff.

do some reasercha and write about the misconceptions of conservativism.....

write about how political correctness as advocated by liberals is limiting our free speach ability and killing the english language...thats right i said killing the english language....ie: when writing a paper you mist write "he/she" instead of choosing one...or use person where you might have been gender specific...

write about the close minded ness of liberalism and how by supporting the conservative side you are automatically condemned...write about the difficulties of being a conservative in a liberal campus...

you know alot of people like matt stone and trey parker..creators of south park...but did you know that they are conservatives? Didnt think so

im not saying that I am a conservative...i am in fact neither but recently i have been subjected on many occasions to the plight of conservative students on a liberal campus as i attend ucsb....a notedly liberal community

How about three old standbys for columns:

Ionic, Doric, or Corinthian?
