This isn't a deal on the prime peripheral products. But I was just wondering does anybody know the contact info of the 45 dollar rebate on the 200 pack prime peripheral cds? I forgot where I bought the merchandise; I can't remember where I have the receipt either. Did anybody get the 45 dollar rebate check yet?

45 dollars is a pretty big chunk of money! I want my rebate money!!!

Office Max has had quite a few rebates on Prime Peripheral products (I can recall a modem and CD drive).

This is from OfficeMax. No, I haven't received a check yet (it's only been 6 weeks.) Rebate status can be obtained at http://www.forrebates.com, but there's no info yet.

I have had good luck with rebates through this fulfillment company (TCA Rebates.) Your rebate will probably arrive within the next couple weeks.

I received this rebate weeks ago. Have you called them? You can check the status on-line at http://www.tcarebates.com. I called them after 8 weeks and the rebate showed up the next week.

Just a few suggestions for those that are new to this rebate game:

1. Keep copies of everything - go to the gas station and spend 5 cents for the copier.

2. The rebate form will usually say something like "Call 800-xxx-xxxx if your rebate has not arrived within 8 weeks." Make sure you call that number. I swear, these companies will sometimes hold the rebate check until you call!! (I actually had one CS rep say to me "now that you've called, we can send your check..."!)

3. Write the rebate due date on the calander, or add it to your scheduling or PIM software.

4. Keep a record of your calls about the rebate.

These fulfillment companies are not the most careful about getting rebates out. But if you call, and you make it clear that you know the date you sent the rebate and that you have copies of all documentation, you will always get your rebate. I have sent for at least 100 rebates over the past five years and have received every single one. I had to call more than 5 times for some of them.

Damn them to hell, I don't think they even have me in the computer. I called that 800 number and apparently they screwed up really bad because i couldn't even get through to anybody so i e-mailed some guy from primeperipherals and still no answer. BBB is soo to hear about this

gotta find the rebate copies and give them a call.
Usually would wait longer, but 45 bucks...time to put some pressure on.

I guess it's been 10 weeks (vaid only on purchases from 2/18 to 2/20.) Here is the exact wording from the rebate form:

"Rebate checks will be mailed in approx. 8-10 weeks. If you have not received your check within 12 weeks visit http://www.forrebates.com or call 877-783-3546."

LostBoy

OfficeMax stopped using TCARebates as of January 1, 2001 due to TCARebates mismanagement of the Officemax offers. OfficeMax now uses ForRebates (www.forrebates.com) for all their rebate fulfillment.

I talked to ForRebates this morning and they said that the rebates for Prime Peripherials 200-Pack Cd-R (Offer #45 from 2/18/2001 - 2/20/2001) will start mailing out tomorrow (5/1/2000). If you mailed in your rebate within a few days of the purchase, you should received your check with 14 days. You can contact ForRebates at 1-877-783-3546

FYI of those of you who responded to the OfficeMax free 50X CD-ROM Drive (Offer #50) and the free 56K modem (Offer #51) and sent your rebate submission for both in the same envelope, you might want to call ForRebates or visit their website. They are now saying that each offer MUST be mailed in a seperate envelope even though both offers were on one rebate form.

I just called them and gave them my first and last name (that's all they ask for). They came back with the first and last name BUT with some one else's address in another state !! Good thing I'd photocopied the rebate form and receipts before I sent it in. They told me that due to the overwhelming response to that rebate, they have NOT entered everyone's name into the computer system yet and I should call them back within 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Are they trying to delay the issuance of the rebate so they could earn interest? I think so.

I got an email response back from them and it was the run around. He said that there was overwhelming response (what do you expect with free stuff) and to check back in a week. I looked at http://www.forrebates.com this morning and they changed the date. It used to say that status for rebate #45 would be available on April 30th now it says May 4th. I'm sure that on Friday they will change it again.

WhiskeyPapa

That date has changed at least 4 times. The first time I checked the page it said April 4th (or some day in the first week or April.)

Due to the overwhelming response of this offer we have experienced some delays. We do not show a scheduled chcek date for your rebate as yet. Please check back again in a week.

I'm out over $70 from rebates from OfficeMax and Bestbuy. This really bothers me. It's been 12 weeks on one and 11 on the other-both were to be 8 week rebates

What the hell? I call the phone number and they gave me a voice mail about leaving my name and they will get back to me. However, when it came time to leave the message, it gave me an error, saying the mailbox is full and I won't be able to leave a message. Does anyone have a number where there's actually people? I called during their "office" hours, but apparently no one picks up.

re: rebates 50 and 51 (CD drive and modem)

I sent both rebates on the same form (and because I was in a hurry, and my scanner was not working on my new system yet, I didn't make copies) :(

I left voicemail on the number listed for http://www.forrebates.com. I also went to the OfficeMax web site customer service links and sent them a request to lean on Prime Peripherals to honor the rebates. Maybe hearing from a big vendor will have a little more impact on Prime Peripherals.

I just called 877-783-3546 and was told that my name was not in the system yet. She also told me that due to the overwhelming resonse to this offer the manufacturer had requested an additional 2 weeks to complete the rebates, and if I don't received my check in the next 2 weeks to call her back and she would be more than happy to help me further. She seemed cool enough.

Markel

I noticed today that the web site at http://www.forrebates.com has taken on quite a different appearance. I called them again at 877-783-3546 (after a few busy calls) and actually got a live person! A asked about the requirement of rebates 50 & 51 (CDROM drive and Modem) being submitted on separate forms, and she said that they are NOT enforcing this, and as long as there are receipts and UPC codes for both products, a single rebate form would be honored. (Maybe OfficeMax has had some words with them?)

She also said that they are still in the processing of entering data for these rebates, and if I want to check back on the status that I should wait for 5 weeks.

At least there's hope, but I'm not holding my breath.

riznick,
ya ya ya... we're all waiting for the rebates...

if you look at your rebate page a couple days ago, it was actually due the 5, which they bumpd to the 7th, then again to the 9th...

I might have been even B4 that, I haven't been keeping a close watch, but you know that they are working on it...

Well, if you have bills to pay with the rebate its your fault for not budgeting your $$ wisely...

Lets just hope we don't have to wait another month

The http://www.forrebates.com site has been updated. It now says:

"Questions pertaining to Offer #45 may be directed to:RCG Administrator" The email address for the RCG Administrator is [email protected]

Let's all give John a holler, ok?

I did notice one thing as I was reviewing my photocopies: the rebate coupon says to include a "copy of sales receipt". And they even had it in bold letters. Office Max provides a special rebate receipt, which is what I sent. Do you think they are going to be picky about that?

Staples and rebateshq.com suck. They try everything possible to not give you the rebate. Now what they are trying to do is to send half the people a card syaing that you're rebate is invalid for some reason. If you give them a call, and say... I did purchase it within the proper time, i did send it on time, I did include a receipt, I did include a upc, whatever the reason is. They just say, ok, you rebate is validated now. All they want you to do is call.

I just wanted to let you people know that your rebate processing abilities suck! I sent a rebate form in for offer #45 on 2/24/01 and you still haven't sent me my $45 check.
The rebateshq.com site doesn't give any exact information about when the rebate will be sent and in fact says it was just validated on 5/18??? Why the hell did it take you people 3 months to validate my rebate? Numerous other victims are suffering as well and I think this is an insulting way to treat customers. I won't be buying your cheap crap anymore. In fact, I'm going to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the Missouri Attorney General's office regarding your fraudulent practices. Does anyone here believe for a minute that they were totally unaware how many rebate requests there would be? That's why they hire a rebate clearing house (like For Rebates or Rebates HQ or whatever.) Those people are supposed to be "experts" in planning, validating and fulfilling rebates.

For crying out loud, whenever I send for a $1 rebate on lightbulbs or a $3 rebate on batteries, they come like clockwork.

I'm sure I'll get my $45, but after 18 weeks? Who do they think they are, CyberRebate?

I'm with you on that one Edthesped - no more Prime Peripherals purchases for me either. Office Max is to blame here as well. I think everyone should send them a complaint through ecomplaints.com and planetfeedback.com.
This is unacceptable behavior and then didn't even apologize for it or acknowledge the problem unless you called them. I just hope I get rebates #51 & #50 from them which were also PP items (modem and CDROM drive)

I just checked at rebateshq.com for the status of my rebates for the modem and CDROM drive. On the CDROM drive status, I am told, "We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because this promotion allows only one rebate per item per household. A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you."

I submitted one request for a CDROM rebate and one request for the modem rebate (on the same form). I've started sending complaints to OfficeMax and OKie Corporation (Prime Peripherals) via http://www.planetfeedback.com . In nothing happens, my next letter will be to my state Attorney General's office (or whoever handles matters of consumer fraud).

I originally bought both items, expecting to submit the rebate for both. I then read the form, and the wording was unclear. If you interpreted it one way, you could get both rebates, but if you interpreted it another way, you could only get one.

I talked to the staff at the local OfficeMax, and they assured me that I could get both. Not being so trusting of "joe average" working in the customer service booth, I returned the modem- not worth the risk. Sounds like I may have made the right choice.

Of course, my rebate form hasn't even posted to rebatesHQ yet. I could be screwed anyway...

Sounds like a good way for Prime Peripherals to try and get out of paying rebates. If you read the rebate form there are TWO DIFFERNT rebate numbers (50 and 51). That says to me that there are TWO DIFFERENT rebates. I applied for one rebate on 50 and one on 51. When I had a question whether I needed to use two different rebate forms and wrote to Prime Peripherals they said I would need two different forms. They DID NOT say, "Don't bother you only need one because you can apply for only one, either the modem or the CD-ROM". Can anyone guess which rebate check they will send. I bet it will be for the modem, afterall it is less money.

At this point I've got email sent to 1) the top office of OfficeMax, 2) an OfficeMax customer service rep that I had a previous reply from over this, and 3) OKie / Prime Peripherals.
Does anybody know a phone number for OfficeMax customer service? (I plan to try to get action moving from every angle on this.)

Oh yea - I've also sent a message to rebatesHQ telling them that they are the ones with the "misunderstanding" on this.

hey everyone - if Office Max tries to screw us out of both #50 and #51 rebates then head to your local store and ask the manager for your rebate. This is clearly 2 individual rebates no matter how they word it - if they don't honor them then it's fraud. I for one will not take this crap from them so I'll be keeping an eye on this situation.

I got a reply from my OfficeMax representative (that I emailed complaining about Prime Perpherals trying to rip me off for my $45 rebate). She says, "Thank you for taking the time to write. To further assist you, your e-mail has been forwarded to the President of Prime Peripherals for a resolution. Thank you for your time in this matter."

I wonder if this is the only response I'll get from the 5 complaints I've sent.

Got my check yesterday. It only took around 12 weeks. The strange thing is that the rebate tracking website never had my info.

Yesterday I got email response from someone at OKie (Prime Peripherals) in response to my complaint letter I posted throught http://www.planetfeedback.com . (Hey, at least it tells me that email through them gets some attention.) The email OKie sent contained a generic response telling me that I can track the status of my rebates at rebatesHQ.com and that there are delays in processing the Prime Peripherals reabates (as if this is new information). My response letter should give her an "eyefull" (equivalent of a telephone "earfull"), as it started with "PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ MY COMPLAINT!!" and went on to explain that they are trying to screw me out of my rightful rebate.

Got my postcard today telling me that they cannot honor my request for the modem and CD-Rom rebates. It sounds as though they plan on sending me none of them. I am trying to call every number I can find. Has anyone else had any luck yet?

Regarding the CDROM/modem rebates #50 and #51, I went to my local Office Max store to complain over the weekend. They made copies of my rebate forms/UPC/receipts and said he would call the regional office tomorrow to see what is going on with this. I asked for a corporate phone number which he wrote down as (216) 921-6900. It might be smarter to dial 1-800-555-1212 and ask for a toll-free number for Office Max. I'm calling them tomorrow. The more of us that complain, the more pressure we can put on them to honor the rebates they are attempting to defraud us out of.

Today I received the "denial" postcard for the CDROM rebate from Prime Peripherals. I also got an email from OfficeMax that gives another number to try. Here's what OfficeMax had to say:

We apologize for the inconveniences you have encountered getting your rebates. We have been assured by Prime Peripherals that all rebates will be paid and this includes offers 50 & 51 for which you applied. If you have any further questions, please call me.

Welp got my "You have already submitted the maximum number of rebate claims......." post cards today.

Looks like they are trying to bend me over too.
Call OfficeMax, and they were somewhat helpful. Hopefully they will be are champions (I will then cease to call them orfice-max) :-)

I tried calling Ben Greene (OfficeMax) at the number from the preivous page. (I left a voicemail.) He called me back (he was at lunch -- they're on Eastern time) and said that all rebate requests for the CDROM drive should be honored, and that the denial postcard should not have been sent out. All I can say is, I'll keep watching what happens.

I talked to someone else yesterday at Officemax customer service. She said that they are indeed two different rebates. They took all my information and said there are two people dedicated to getting Prime all the information. She said be patient and they will call me back when they get my info to Prime. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I got the following e-mail today!!!

"Hello, I'm Andrea. I work at the Corporate Headquarters for OfficeMax. I
will forward your information to Prime Peripherals to make sure that you get
your rebate. The post card that your received is incorrect, you will get
both. I am hoping that they will have the printed and mailed by the end on
next week. Thank you for your patience.

So it looks like a good sign...but we shall see. Though I do expect a quality company like OfficeMax to make good on things!

I too received a call back from Ben Greene at Office Max yesterday (from number posted on previous page). He pretty much stated what was already stated by Markel. They do plan to honor both rebates. It's just a matter of when now.

I just had a voicemail from Ben Greene at OfficeMax. He told me that OfficeMax has been assured by Prime Peripherals that the rebate checks (for both products) will be mailded out next Wednesday. He also said that it could take 10-14 days for the mail to be delivered (sounds like the slow bulk mail process).

At least it seems that OfficeMax is showing a bit of class in following up on these.

I got an email (addressee identified as John Mahoney at an OKie (Hotmail!) account, signed by "Leah". It says, "Parago (the processing company)made a mistake, when they processed those who purchased one from each offer. We apologize for that mistake. We are in the process of fixing that mistake.Your claim will be reprocessed, and your status will be validated.
From the time that your status becomes validated,it takes Parago ten days to cut the checks, and approx. 15 additional days to prepare the checks to be mailed, and delivered to your home.

I just checked back at http://www.rebateshq.com on the status of my CDROM drive rebate, and it is now reading "normal", saying "We have received all of your required information and documents. After your information is processed, we will process and mail your rebate reward. Thank you."

I now feel it is much more likely that I will be getting my rebate.

I had enough of waiting for my rebate...so I went to Office Max today and very kindky explained that I had been waiting """155""" days for my rebate and I would like to return the 200 stack of CDs (unopened of course). The manager was less than pleased and made several attempts to explain that this wasn't Office Max's problem it was Prime's problem. He even had an email that said that "all rebates would be received on July 23 & 24th" so to tell customers who were "annoyed" to wait one more day. I explained that 155 days and 10 hours was enough and please gimme my refund. He called corporate and then I got my refund. *grin* He said that I would receive my refund and if I was a good person I would mail it back....well I am a good person but I'm not wasting a stamp to send it back. SO at least for me...the saga has ended.

waited for almost 6 months... but oh well, I honestly can't blame rebateshq nor prime periph... I think they screwed up only because of poor mgmt @ their first rebate processing center (the one with the lame website).

I just did a lookup on my modem and cdrom drive rebates, and both checks were printed today. Maybe in a month I'll actually be caught up on rebates from this (rebateshq.com / Parago) place.

is is just me or does it seem like all the rebate processing houses are really sucking this year. I have several other rebates not associated to Prime Peripherals or rebateshq.com that are over a month late. Last week I had to call Iomega up and they just sent me a check for one that I sent in last March????? Starts making Cyberrebate look like they were fast. :D I don't mind waiting 8-10 weeks on a rebate but when they don't honor them on the time the rebate form states it starts to get annoying. You have to watch these places every minute and keep detailed copies of everything or else they will screw you.

i sent mine in two days late, and i fully expected to not get it, even before this fiasco started. Then there was the huge deal with pp, and I figured I wasn't gonna get it at all, and lo and behold it came. I don't know why, or what the deal was, but I guess I just got lucky. How late was your sent in?

There should be contact information at http://www.rebateshq.com If not, contact this guy at Parago - they run rebatesHQ:

David Carstens (972) 538-7241

He responded to my complaint emails yesterday regarding the poor rebate processing capabilities of Rebateshq.com Don't give him too much crap though - he is very nice and willing to help. He's head of their Consumer Services group and has a vested interest in keeping people happy. He indicated the the biggest problem recently is that Prime Peripherals and Xirlink (2 big recent rebates) are not paying Parago/Rebateshq in a timely fashion.

Well, I think I'm finally caught up on rebates. When I got back from vacation yesterday I had the checks from the CDROM drive and modem (OfficeMax) deals (as well as the IBM PC camera deal). I just hope there is some way to check on future rebates to see if they are (mis-)handled by this same outfit before I invest.
