Hey all, I am going to Europe for a month this summer and I am looking around for a good backpack. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with backpacking about Europe. What pack they used/was it comfortable? What conveniences about the pack made life easier/which were unnecessary (ie. detachable daypack, rolling wheels, etc.) How large (volume) was the pack? would you have liked more room? How heavy? etc. I appreciate any responses that can help me choose the best pack. Thanks!

Be prepared to be heavily interrogated and maybe quarantined on your return to the US.

ahhh, conspiracies everywhere....
i swear by jansport. you can't hurt those puppies with a flamethrower. get the biggest one you can carry. wheels are useless. a nice thing to have if you are going to big cities, like paris, rome, or berlin, where pickpockets/gypsies abound, are those itty bitty locks for the zippers. also good is a pouch for your wallet/passport, either to wear around your neck and inside your shirt, or around your beltloop and inside your pants.
and if you go to germany, don't miss cochem castle.
