I have had great success with an online company called stereoz.com which can be found at http://www.stereoz.com . I bought an Alpine CD player and a Rockford Fosgate amp from them and they were very quick and affordable.

If you're a first time installer, try http://www.crutchfield.com - their prices are probably higher than others, but they cater to the newbie installer. If you buy a stereo from them, they include the wiring harness, conversion kit for your particular car, and a few other goodies that makes the install easier.
