What can i say? I was getting bored with Rome... You ever seen "Maverick" where the Russian pays to shoot the Indian? That's what the Pope offered me as "The Greatest thrill in all of Catholicism"...and it only cost me $250. He said the, and I quote, "The penguins won't mind". I guess the church is going through a bit of financial instability...

To quote SNL...

"Hey, let's go watch the Pengins do it."
"That's disgusting."
"Why? You always watch the Monkeys doin' it."
"Pengins ain't natural like dat. They're chemically man-made, like the Incredibe Hulk. The Bible makes absolutely no mention of Pengins."
"Well, 'fit's in the bible..."

Doesn't that violate their basic belief system to value one life above another?

Why do people die in the inner city every day and no one cares, but if they die in the suburbs it is a tragedy?

7 people died when the Shuttle exploded yet it became a major event, 100x that died in plane crashes and it was a minor event and 1000's x that died in car crashes yet no one made a big deal about it.

If she was anything like the Nuns I had all 12 years of school-I say it was probably one of the former students she most likely humiliated in front of the whole student body. (Nuns are well known for doing this lovely deed)...

the shuttle DID sort of blow up on national television, while millions of students watched, so that MIGHT color some preceptions, you think?

yeah...that and this particular launch was specifically tailored to show how any ordinary person (hence the included teacher) could make their way safely into space...and it didn't work out quite the way they hoped...

NASA kinda blew that one (to pieces)...but that seems to be what they do best (can we say "satellite flown straight into Mars...?").
