Ok so I got this shiny new OS and am quite impressed with it, well it lashes on winME, except I have a Half Life Dedicated Server on my network which used to be visible to the internet.
I have enabled Connection Sharing and can mail, ICQ and surf from the other machine, just my damn server doesn't seem to be visible.
Yet it gets 'WON Auth Server' which as far as I know means it is connecting to the Master Servers, with or without setting it up as a seperate service.
With WinME the ICS changed the port to 1024, this doesn't work now, I have done a port scan and tried all the different open ports to no avail using 127.0.0.1 as the IP address in GameSpy.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelppppppppppppppp I need to get my server running !

I am getting a response from them when i ping them and have added them to gamespy with varying port numbers. Doing a netstat I can see that port 29024 is listening, among others which i have tried.
I am thinking this is an issue with the win2k setup and I am missing something here. I desperately don't want to go back to winMe but I need my server running. I am supposed to be running a test map for a friend on the wavelength half life map editing forum, and enjoy playing on it with my local friends.
Some assumptions I am making : In the setup for Internet connection Sharing under applications I am adding a new one called HLDS. The 'REMOTE SERVER' is the port number of the application on the machine on my network and the range of ports of'INCOMING RESPONSE' is the port range to listen for requests from the outside world.
Maybe I have hit the problem here, do I need to set a specific port to listen and pass the information to the HL Server. It would seem that this is allowing to authenticate the server and get a response but not listen for new requests ??
