View Full Version : Favorite Sandwich

I'm a BIG sandwich fan. Nothing like the perfect sandwich. My favorites come from Togo's. Though once in a while I find myself lusting after a baked sandwich from Quiznos. I only touch subway when it's really late at night and I'm hungry for a sanwich because the subway here is open 24 hours.

jimmy john's #5, the vito, extra meat. i also do enjoy schlotzky's deli from time to time with the funky chewy bread. also good is the st. louis bread company, which recently renamed itself panera's or pannetti's or something, because they did some market research revealing that nobody, including st. louisans, believed that st. louis could produce tasty bread...

I'm all about sandwiches myself too. I hate cooking, I eat quick, so if it's not cereal w/ milk, its a sandwich :) I'm all about the grilled chicken. Best grilled chicken......Yaga's Cafe in Galveston, TX! :)

If you were in the military or were an army brat like i was you could go to a place called Robin Hood's sandwiches.
They were the best I have ever enjoyed.

I think the big chain stores only get so good. The best sandwiches I've had are all from mom'n'pop corner stores. It's best when they lightly bake the bread and cheese before adding all the juicy ingredients.

Bar none, it's the Hat in Southern Cal. I love dirty pastrami, and dirty pastrami don't get no better than that! 'Course, you feel like a 180 pounds of dog crap after eating it (especially if you get their chili cheese fries), but hey, 10 minutes in heaven is worth 2 hours in hell.

OMG!!! Penny I love that place and I went to it long time ago when I was interviewing for Pomona College. This is the one in Pomona, right? I was over in the area a week ago and I was hungry for some pastrami and I couldn't find the damn place. Where is it? DO you have the address or something? :P

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifegaurd.

Wouldn't that be natural selection?

Loki

You would like to think that natural selection would have done a good job but I think everyone knows that it's about the same as the janitor playing with the chemicals late at night when the lab is closed. ;)

Dom's isn't that big (he's talking about a small shop in Fallbrook where my ex used to work), and they're not that good either... I can easily finish one (and i'm rather skinny)...but I still prefer SubWay. Anyone else notice how all of his posts center on food? I think Jenn might be a very negative influence on you, my good man. From what Nancy told me a week or so ago, you two have been packing back the pounds. Actually I just went there recently and I can finish a subway sandwich but not the a large one from Dominick's. They are about a foot long but the catch is that they're really wide. Oh well...I just got back from getting free ice cream...oh ya gotta love that oreo cookie chip. :P

It's actually a ten inch, and yes it's thick, but it is not too large to finish in a sitting. I'm slender and could finish off at least a small and a large in a single sitting.

the sandwich shop is in my friggin' hometown; everytime i go home my sister or father take me there with them because they love it and seriously...they're thicker than most sandwiches, but they're easily handleable. I've even seen Jenn eat a large in one sitting. You wouldn't want to imply anything about her now; would you?

I manage a Subway, and after working there for about 4 years, I rarely eat it anymore. I must say that the new stuff we have been putting out is quite good though. Especially the Asiago Cheese bread. Anyway, I have eaten at the Carnegie Deli, and they do have some amazing sandwiches. No visiter to Manhatten should pass up the Carnegie.

I think that the problem with Subway is the fact that we are a very large chain, and have been slow in the past to implement new ideas. All of these new sandwich shops started opening with all these new ideas, and Subway just sat back and watched it happen. However, over the past year we have started to try new things, and the results have been very impresive.

The chain just finished testing 60 new sauces and found that the four we currently have rated the highest. Also, on July 9, we will be adding cucumbers to our vegtable selection, and each market will be adding two new cheeses (provalone, pepper jack, cheedar, or swiss) in addition to the american cheese we currently have.

Anyway, you heard it here first :)

nothign other than that i have a fast metabolism. you really need to work on your wit if that is the best you could come up with... How about something along the lines of "what does that imply about your girlfriend? she eats them in single sittings too...but you can hardly refer to her as 'slender'."

and for the record, loki is an econ major, so the disagreements will hardly be:

ProMinx: Breasty "friend" or best friend? Sound familiar?

Post 2:
Loki: Volkswagen rules!
ProMinx: I'm not even going to dignify that with a response...

but this is not the time or the place...the time and place is after you realize that jenn isn't worth it (trust me that the time will come...but i won't rush it by telling any more stories; if you're curious, you'll ask...and you won't ask).

Oh and I guess now you're calling me ignorant in a "sophistacated" way. And BTW I don't see how my more "appropriate" responses have any connection to my being an econ major.

OMG!! Pickles are my world man. I buy whole jars of them at costco and eat them for a snack...hehe They're really good on tuna sandwiches. You get those sandwich spreaders that are cut length wise and just put those on the tuna. Don't forget to mix tuna with mayonaise and a dash of sweet relish in a bowl first though ;)
