Forgive me, but this sounds like a bit like a research project.

Why are you asking?

cruelpupet
05-02-2001, 12:47 AM
sorry there is none...Ive had friends get as low as minimum wage and as high as 20/hr it all depends on your job.

Loki

I'm sticking with the job I have for the summer but I've been with the company for almost two years so my salary isn't really relevant for a summer job. But from past summer jobs I would say a salary between $8-$12 is about right depending on your skills.

welfareloser
05-02-2001, 12:54 AM
depends on your skills and location:
architectural internship, in the midwest except chicago - 8-10 /hr. chicago - 10-14 /hr.
forestry internship: pay? you're lucky we let you have the job!
music degree: crack whore. salary negotiable.

yep, another helpful answer from the guvmint cheese expert. don't be too lavish in your thanks, i embarrass easily...

I'm hitting around 9 an hour...

but depending on the connections you have, I've seen it go up to $25.

ziggyziggy
05-02-2001, 01:02 AM

What a cowinki-dink. I was trying to write my first resume today in hopes that i can get a full/part time computer related job this summer.

I'll be a student throughout the summer (taking more beautiful math and physics classes so that i'll be completely done with everything except my upper-division physics and astrophysics courses), but I'll also be working my computer store job at 9 an hour and continuing my research for one of my fave astro profs, Zuckerman, for 12-15 per hour (still in negotiation; he's trying to get me the top, but the physics and astronomy department is trying to talk him down to 12 while i'm just sitting back waiting for a number) and i work seriously whatever hours i want.

What a cheaky bastard I am! I'm not a college student any more, but I'm still going to post!

Oh, the humanity!

Jobs.. Check out the food bizniz, they're always looking for talent. Avoid fast-food chains and you'll be making $7-15 and hour.

I worked full-time throughout college cause I was a commuter student, so I got some jobs you may not be able to get.

I was a computer technician for a year. Started at $6.50, then went to $7.25, then $8.00. Then I quit cause he was a cheap bastard and the customers kept hitting on me.

Then I started web design/development. Found a small group that was local to me. I started at $100/week cash. When summer came, I was making $10 an hour and continued there for a year.

I've seen your resume. It's impressive, you shouldn't have any problem getting a decent-paying job man. Get hooked up with an internship if you can. They'll often lead to paying positions.

Go learn to be a Plumber. They honestly get paid around 40 an hour. I use to be an apprentice until I got "dipped" one day.

It was one of those "hose yourself off in the front yard" kind of days.

$10.25/hr. @ Costco. :D

That is current, but will probably just be more hours during the summer. I'm already averaging about 30hours/week, though. :)
