My Avs are/were ranked 1st (in the west and the league). The Dead Things finished 7 points behind, tied with the Devils for 2nd overall.

Yeah I know it's not popular to like the Avs. Anybody that doesn't know me assumes I'm a bandwagon-jumper. This is the treatment I get for sticking with the Nordiques through what I understatedly call "the lean years"? You should have seen the slamming I took back then!

Damned if they suck, damned if they're good. Oh well, I'll get the last laugh when after they take out the Blues in 6, then take the Cup beating the Leafs in 5.

I think the Sabres will now take down Pittsburgh in 6 games, the same way Philly wore them out last year (gee, you'd think that the 'burg would have learned that you can't run with just 3 lines...Mario and Jaromir just get too tired -- hence a pair of 3rd period victories for buffalo).

The sabres would romp over toronto, just like 2 years ago, but I think would have a much tougher time against NJ (who have 2 real decent scoring lines).

The key thing with the sabres is the balanced scoring, all 4 lines have contributed. Even the guys that have been benched for most of the season and are being called on are stepping up when needed most.

In the west, the Avs will definitely take down LA and then the Blues.

I have to root for the Sabres in the Finals, but even if they lose, there's a small consolation that the old man (R. Bourque) will finally get the ring he so richly deserves.

Sorry about the stars happy, but I'm a blues fan. I have to give the Blues credit: They've been plagued with horrendous injuries this season, and not many of their stars are 100%, and this is the first time we've been to the conference finals in 15 years.

Are we playing the Avs, then? When's game 1?

yet again, Tie Domi makes the sport look like head hunting. This last little infraction makes me want him banned. It was a dirty, mean, and unneeded hit. As far as I'm concerned, this is just as bad as what McSorley did last season. It's crazy that the league might let this go with a few games and some $$.

Just watched Lemieux steal another game...how about that, with 1:18 left in regulation.

I'm a die hard Sabres fan, but with the goalie pulled, Warrener didn't pick Lemieux up and he banged and banged and finally got it in. Lemieux just found another way to keep his team going for another game.

How about that: 1 series sweep (4-0 St. Louis over Dallas), and 3 Game SEVENs (Colorado vs. LA, NJ vs. Toronto and Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh).

Wow, talk about nerve wracking!

last year the blues got their asses handed to them by the sharks in round one. Keep in mind, the blues were 1st and the sharks were 8th.
Most of them were junk goals too.
