purchasing advice needed...

I'm planning on purchasing a car within the next month and I just wanted to know if car auctions are relatively 'safe' to buy from, if they are, how can I get some information about auctions near by?

what about police auctions? I've heard of these, but never really seen one....

is the classified section in the news paper the best place to for a used car?

btw I'm going for either an accord coupe v6 or the solara sle-v6...

It depends on what kind of car auction you goto. The ones open to the public aren't as good as the ones open to dealers and such. If you have a friend who has a dealers license, then try to go with him. You will get much better prices.
