Great deal, but I have heard bad things about PNY CDRs. Can anyone confirm this with the current batch retailers are selling? I know the older batches had mad quality problems.

Hopefully they have tweaked their fab process (given they make their own). Anyone willing to be a guinea pig on this one?

I think another reason why people aren't hopping on this deal so fast is because of the mail-in rebate. I hate those sooo much. Sure its a good deal, but the hassle of mailing in something just un-encourages me to go through with the deal. But thats just my opinion. =-)

I agree with your about mail-in coupons. I've had my share of bad CompUSA mail-ins. I've had good luck with Symantec tho.

I have these exact same discs. They are not bad. Pretty decent to what I've dealt with before. So far no problems. So I guess I can reccommend them.

Compusa has 100 pack Imations for $29.99, at least as of last sunday. And Imations are supposed to be good, right? I don't like mail-in rebates too much now. I used to buy everything on mail-in rebate and get stuff for free, but they take forever, and especially for large rebates, if they deny it or lose it for some reason you are screwed.

Personally I've come to hate PNY as a company - just as bad as HiVal. A 10 pack CD-Rs came with a $10 rebate as BB a few weeks back. I sent in the rebate, and BB had to call up saying they wouldn't honor the rebate. They just decided to pull it! On top of this, why did BB (a company I like) have to call! Because they didn't want their customers to be upset!

Eventually BB sent me a $10 check. Another incident where PNY said I didn't send in a UPC for RAM when I did include it - well that just draws the line. HiVal falls into the same category. They've screwed me out of more than $600 of rebate stuff from CompUSA. I stay aware from CompUSA/Hival deals now!
