Ok.. so I bought an AIWA CDC-MP3 player and installed it in my car about two months ago. It rocks.. but it rocks louder than my speakers did... They started going "pop-pop," and now they're still doing that, plus they're rattling... so I'm sure I've torn them. I need some new ones, but I plan on selling my car in about a year, so I don't want to put too much money into them... like under $100 is what I'm thinking. I don't know anything about speakers, cept mine are broken. They're for (don't laugh) a 1994 Ford Taurus (now you see why I'm selling the car in about a year). What specs should I look for, and where can I get some decent ones that I can install myself? I think only the back speakers are blown. And of course.. this is the Got|Apex deals site... so I want something cheap, but still good quality! Thanks.
Here's the best advice I can give you - Call up Crutchfield - 1-888-955-6000, 8am-midnight Eastern Time - and talk to one of their sales people. Tell them what you have and what you want. Their info and recomendations are truly first-rate. I've had nothing but good experiences with them. Their prices are a tad high, so if you want to save a little cash be sure to get specific brand and part numbers from them and go to some bargain shops. On the other hand, I have no problem paying for good service.

I bought my AIWA MP3 player from Crutchfield.. cuz i spoke to their customer service reps and they gave me good info. I paid a little more for it from them, but they gave me the hookup cables for free too. I was really looking for a better deal this time. I know Crutchfield has good customer service.. but if someone here can tell me what I need then I don't have to pay Crutchfield the extra $$$.

GAH! Are you kidding me?? I'm a photojournalist.. I know what happens to people who order from that place. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft. cattle prod.
