AOL IM message transcripts

Here's my question I want to automatically save IM transcripts and chat transcripts whn I'm using my AOL IM. I know you can save both manually, but is there a way to do it automatically?

Nah, I don't think there is any way to hack AIM to save a chat transcript automatically, unless you broke down and wrote a shell script to mimick the manual approach.

However, you might want to check some of the other messaging clients that use the now open AIM servers, such as Trillian, Aimster, or Everybuddy.

AIM 4.3 or higher has automatic logging built in.

Umm, lemme find it. My Aim>Edit Options>Edit Preferences>Logging

oops, just realized, i have 4.4. You may want to upgrade, cuz this one has automatic logging built in.

Damnit, I upgraded... but it went to 4.7
um... I dont suppose you haev the 4.4 upgrade file do you? Apparently 4.7 doesnt have auto-logging...

there is no 4.4

but aol-files.com has it and other cool stuff... Also I really dont think AOL will do logging... USE IMICI with the AIM attachment!
