View Full Version : Windows XP and Dual Palominos?
Well the dual processors motherboards for AMD chips are supposed to hit the server market June 4th. I know I will be upgrading sometime in the fall. But anyways, just wondering if anyone knows if Widnows XP will support dual chips? If not, I guess Win2k pro does, right?

XP is an extension of W2K so yes, it will support multiple processors.

One quick question: why do you need dual processors? Please tell me that you are into heavy graphics rendering...

Why ask why?
Why get a turbo?
Why get a .44, when a .22 will do?
Cause you can.
Yep, why do people get 200,000 dollar cars when a Kia Sephia does the same job? :) I play games, i want dual chips for games! LOL! :) J/k. Well, I want it for everything. I figured maybe i'll start doing more stuff in 3d studio max, but it's basically just cause I'll have extra money and it's something i've never done.

only XP Pro and higher will...
XP Personal WILL NOT!!!...
So XP is trying to combine Win98(Me) and Win2k into one OS? Or will there be a seperate sequel to Win2k?

i think that it'll be a safer bet to go with dual p4 xeons and WinXP than going the AMD way...
I have little faith in a daul AMD system
