Weird experience (ghosts?)

Ok - so I just got home. I go to the elevator and press the UP button. I hear the elevator start to move (it's sitting on the top floor). As it comes down the shaft I hear the voices of a young woman and a child. The voices get louder as the elevator gets nearer. (This actually happens quite a lot - we only have one elevator in my building.) The elevator arrives, the door opens - and no one is inside.

perhaps you should ask your manager if... umm.. anything unfortunate ever happen in your building.. specifically the lift. Or maybe you could do what they do in movies and go to the library and look up old newspapers...

or perhaps, there's a vent in the elevator that somehow echos the voices from someone else's apartment... but why would an elevator vent be connected in any way to someone's apartment...

I keep seeing the ghost of Al Capone and between laughing about Geraldo Rivera opening his empty vaults, he keeps saying something about all the Got|Apex readers going to jail for tax evasion over the CyberRebates situation.

is it the same voices every time? that could just mean there's a wierd airshaft from their apt. but if they're saying the same thing every time, that is wierd. can you ever understand what they are saying?

Next time check to see if people are plaing in the shaft, like on top of the elevator. That is some fun sh!t. :D

There's a ghost in my roommate's room that turns lamps on and rattles the table and desk, at different times, randomly. Kinda creepy.

Imagine how freaked out the ghosts are when the door opens and they see you all pale and scared shitless looking at nothing --> :eek:

My family had friends that moved to Governor's island (NY) into a house with some strange happenings. The toilet in the parents' bedroom would flush in the middle of the night, and occasionally small objects would be rearranged. I was on the top floor playing with matchbox cars or something with the son, and a toy army jeep from the other side of the room came barrelling across the floor (not at us, but still...). It wasn't a remote control one, and damn it freaked me out. I guess the son was used to it, cause it didn't really bother him.

In college I had a roommate who worked as a bartender. It was pretty much a "blue-collar" bar, and I would help Brian (my roommate) close up sometimes for free booze. I would take down empty cases into the basement (dimly lit) and stack them. One time, I could swear I saw someone out of the corner of my eye. Looked, wasn't there. Went around the corner, nothing. Got sort of creeped, went upstairs. A few days later I mentioned it to Brian the "weird thing" that happened in the basement. He told me the story of "Joe" a guy who was shot on the front step about 10 years before. He even showed me the newspaper articles from the killing. The owner and staff had all claimed to have an "experience" similar to mine. Just plain creepy.

I couldn't understand what they were saying. Hearing people talking in the elevator as it comes down happens all the time here, but this is the first time that people didn't accompany the voices. The voices stopped just a quick second before the elevator doors opened.

people could have done with our elevator. they hacked into the telephone system and was talking to the passengers.
